Journalist Elaine Weiss says that she had not realized how American women won the right to vote.
She had learned about the 1848 women's rights convention in Seneca Falls.
She had learned about the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which passed just one hundred years ago this summer.
But she had not known about the 70 year battle in between.
She felt like she "must have missed that class" in school.
So she wrote a book about it.
Elaine Weiss joins us to talk about The Woman's Hour: The Great Fight To Win The Vote, in conversation with WCAI's Mindy Todd, host of the public affairs program The Point.
History class has never been better.
