Anthony Marra is the New York Times-bestselling author of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, longlisted for the National Book Award and winner of the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Prize, the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award in fiction, and the Barnes & Noble Discover Award. Anthony Marra received a BA from USC, and while there won The Atlantic’s 2009 Student Writing Contest. Work for an MFA from the University of Iowa’s Writers Workshop followed, and then a Stegner Fellowship in fiction at Stanford 2011-2013. Besides winning a Pushcart Prize and a Narrative Prize, his work was also in Make magazine and in The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2012. In 2012 he received a Whiting Writers’Award. His new novel, The Tsar of Love and Techno, is a stunning, exquisitely written collection introducing a cast of remarkable characters whose lives intersect in ways both life-affirming and heartbreaking.
