Ben Bradlee, Jr., is the author of the new book, The Kid: The Immortal Life of Ted Williams, a biography rich in detail and drama. Following graduation from Colby College, Bradlee served in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan, and then began his journalistic career. He spent the period from 1979 to 2004 with the Boston Globe, first as a reporter, working at the White House bureau, and as the paper’s national correspondent. He wrote three books, including Guts and Glory: The Rise and Fall of Oliver North. For fifteen years he held editorial posts, from Political Editor to Deputy Managing Editor, and oversaw the Spotlight Team and the Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church.
