Cherie Burns is the author of four non-fiction books, including The Great Hurricane: 1938 (Grove/Atlantic 2005), Searching for Beauty (St. Martin's Press, 2011), and Stepmotherhood (Crown, 1986), and most recently Diving for Starfish: The Jeweler, the Actress, the Heiress, and One of the World's Most Alluring Pieces of Jewelry (St. Martin's Press, 2018.) Her work has appeared in The New York Times and other publications. She has lived part-time in Nantucket for 33 years, three of those spent full time in 'Sconset.
