Malcolm Mitchell helped the New England Patriots win Super Bowl LI. During his freshman year in college, Malcolm noticed his ability to thrive on the field did not match his success in the classroom and everyday life skills. As a struggling reader he began to tackle this challenge, and through perseverance, books became an avenue for expanding his curiosity, creativity and learning, helping him to reach his full potential. While at the University of Georgia, he wrote and self-published a children's book, The Magician's Hat, and founded an initiative called Read with Malcolm, which introduces book ownership to students and works to improve literacy in schools. In 2016, Malcolm was drafted by the New England Patriots, was named the 2016 Georgia Writer's Association Children's Author of the Year and launched Share the Magic Foundation promoting the benefits of reading to kids in underserved communities. As the New England Patriots Summer Reading Ambassador, he encourages summer reading. He lives in Foxborough, Massachusetts and Atlanta, Georgia.
