Shantaw Bloise-Murphy (she/her/hers) was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica and moved to Nantucket with her family when she was still in school. She graduated from Nantucket High School and attended Bridgewater State University. She later co-created a beauty-products business called Supple Sirens Bath & Body. Shantaw is on the Nantucket School Committee and currently works as the Town of Nantucket’s Director of Culture and Tourism. Prior to this, she held positions in many local non-profit organizations on the island and currently serves on a number of boards that seek to offer housing, educational, and counseling assistance to local families.
